Bowls

Every one of these bowls is hand-carved. First in wet state, with the help of Axe, Adze and Drawknife. Later, when the bowl is dried, they are worked with gouches and knifes to a shimmering and textured surface. The final shape of each one emerges through the process. The range of forms in carving is basically endless. Other than turning it is not limited to a circular shape - not even to a combination of radii. It is only up to me, the wood, the tools which shape emerges. Some ask for decorative carving, flutes, some work best with just the clear, tiny facets of a sharp gouche. All bowls are food safe, treated with Linseed Oil or a mix of Beeswax and Balsam Turpentine.
